Women Teams USA, Sweden, Canada and Japan in Medal Rounds
Medal rounds in team event will be played for the first time in Baker's format best of three. Beeing top seed USA takes on 4th place Japan while Sweden and Canada meet in the other match.
Women Team USA left no doubt about victory in th preliminaries. Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, Leanne Hulsenberg, Lynda Barnes, Tish Johnson ste the pace and were the only team averaging over 200 - 4917 / 204,88. Sweden's Susanne Olsson, Kristina Nordenson, Christel Carlsson, Lena Sulkanen maintained the second position, 4535 / 188.96. Same did the Canadians in 3rd place - France Joubert, Laurie Griffith, Sharon Tataryn, Jill Friis totalled to 4466. Japan managed to overtake Australia in the ultimate round and secured the last spot for the semis. Score was 4399 for Eiko Toriyabe, Yuko Miyakura, Yumiko Yoshida, Honami Yanagawa.
Semi finals and the final will be played in Baker's format best of three. USA vs Japan / Sweden vs. Canada.
All-Events is finished by completeing the team event. It is a double for Team USA - Leanne Hulsenberg takes the Gold, 3900 ahead of Lynda Barnes, 3815, who gets Silver. Bronze will go to Reija Lundén from Finland, 3540. Being among the top 8 who will get a bye for first step in Masters competition: Yumiko Yoshida (JPN), Lena Sulkanen (SWE), Carolyn Dorin-Ballard (USA), Janne Monsen (NOR), and Bianca Völkl-Brand (GER).
